IP Camera Installation
See what's happening, from wherever you are
Cameras are only useful if they're pointed at the right things, recording properly, and viewable when you actually need the footage. Plenty of the systems we're called out to fail on at least one of those — usually the third, and usually at the worst moment.
We design and install IP camera systems for shops, yards, offices, workshops and homes across Glasgow and the Central Belt. Because we're a networking company first, the part most installers get wrong — the cabling, the switch, the storage, the remote access — is the part we do properly.

The site survey is free
We'll walk the property with you, work out what genuinely needs covering, and tell you where cameras will and won't help. That visit costs nothing, and you get a written quote separating the work from the hardware so you can see what you're paying for.
Typical response time is 8 hours, and we can usually survey the next working day.
What we install
- System design — how many cameras, where, and at what resolution to actually identify a face or a plate rather than just record a shape
- PoE cabling and switching so cameras run on one cable with no separate power at each point
- Recording — NVR or network storage, sized for the retention period you need
- Remote viewing on your phone or laptop, set up securely rather than left on a default password
- Night vision and outdoor-rated cameras where the site needs them
- Repairs and upgrades to existing systems — including the ones where nobody knows the login any more
Cameras at a business come with legal duties
If you record people at a business premises, you're a data controller under UK GDPR. That means signage, a retention period you can justify, controlled access to the footage, and being able to respond if someone asks for a copy of themselves.
None of it is difficult, but a system installed without it is a liability rather than an asset. We'll set the retention and access up sensibly and tell you plainly what you're responsible for. We're IT engineers rather than solicitors — for anything contentious, take legal advice.
What it costs
- Site survey — free.
- Call-out — £24 inc. VAT (£20 + VAT) anywhere in the Central Belt of Scotland.
- On-site installation time — £60.00 per hour inc. VAT (£50.00 + VAT).
- Cameras, cabling and recording hardware quoted separately, at a price you can check.
Common questions
Can I view the cameras on my phone?
Yes, and we'll set it up so it's actually secure — a camera system reachable from the internet on a default password is one of the easier ways to get compromised.
Can you fix a system someone else installed?
Usually. We'll document what's there, get you back into it, and tell you honestly whether it's worth keeping or replacing.
How many cameras do I need?
Fewer than most quotes suggest, usually. Two well-placed cameras beat six pointed at nothing in particular. That's what the free survey is for.
What areas do you cover?
Glasgow, Paisley and Renfrewshire, Ayrshire, Edinburgh and the wider Central Belt, from 2 Fitzroy Place, Glasgow G3 7RH.
